I have been taking a class called "Financial Peace" at a church here in town. It's a video series taught by Dave Ramsey, who also hosts a radio talk show, and has authored several books. I wasn't completely thrilled about the idea of a attending a financial class, but it has been one of the greatest things we've ever done together. Travis and i went through that with our small group from church...it's been awesome. We are well on our way to being debt free. Paid off a bunch of stuff this past year! It feels so good! :)
Oh my...LCC is "Dave obsessed!" We have had two sunday school classes on it! We took it and its been painful but good for us! I wish we had known of him before the debt though!!

greggie and daniel have glass jars on their dressers for their money and i've started giving them quarters immediately for jobs they do around the house. that has become a huge motivator for them and i don't have to be a nag...at least not all the time. ha!
we took it too! we're definitely doing better about our debt. we've got everything paid off, still struggling to keep our head above water though.
I agree with much of what Ramsey teaches and could use more financial discipline in my own life. Having said that, I think he is a little too black and white and he is obsessed with money. He has good ideas but he needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
