Virginia on my Mind

As I walked into the Y this morning, I couldn't help but notice a huge front page photo of the shooter from VTech staring at me from the daily newspaper. It was sickening. Isn't this exactly what he would've wanted? Some psycho 15 minutes of fame?

Hi Jeannie
I had to comment on the Virginia Tech psycho..I find the press so unbelievably nauseating in situations like this. THIS IS exactly what someone like him would love, for us to dwell on his psychoness. There is no news in that, he was a sociopath and no matter what anyone says, this couldn't have been prevented. Everyone directly involved did as much as they could and short of locking him up for being strange, there was nothing anyone could do. Unfortunately, if your dealing with a sociopath, they will act on their rage if they choose to do so and usually you don't even know that they weren't just "strange"but indeed psychotic until its too late. I just pray that the families who lost loved ones find comfort from our gracious and loving father!

Jeannie, I would have to agree with you. What does the media think they are doing glorifying what this terrible person has done. It's awful and terrible to have all over the paper and news for everyone to see over and over again. I feel really sorry for all those families. I just can't imagine what they are going through right now. I really worry about the world for children as adults. It's really scarey. Prayer and guidance will help from our end, as well as strength and support!!
