Saying Goodbye

On Monday, May 22nd, Aaron's Grandpa Jule died suddenly of a heart attack. He would have been 80 this June. This week we were in Wisconsin with family for the visitation and funeral services. We'd appreciate your prayers especially for Aaron's Grandma, Mary Lou, during this time.

Jule was a wonderful man and had a bear hug that completely squeezed the life out of you. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and had a smile no matter what the circumstance. He loved all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, gardening, berry-picking, but mostly fishing. Aaron spent dozens of sunsets and sunrises in a boat with his Grandpa. He will be greatly missed.

Aaron and both his brothers spoke at the funeral this week. They each shared personal reflections of the influence Grandpa had on them. One remark everyone enjoyed was when Nick mentioned the quote Grandpa taught them as children. They were to say this whenever they didn't understand what an adult was saying to them: "Your words are too copious for my diminutive apprehension to comprehend." (I think I got that right!) He had a great sense of humor!

Don't miss an opportunity today to tell someone you love them. Thank them for the influence they've had on your life.

Praying for you during this time...Will just lost both of his grandma's within 6 months of each other this past year...but there was always joy in visiting with family and remembering them and telling stories. And I found myself wishing his grandma could be there to share that time with us, isn't it weird how it works that way?

We'll be thinking and praying for all of you. I'll pray especially for Aaron's Grandma, that God will be extra near to her in the months to come...
